Too many blocks shed on Run D

Has anyone had success in controlling a game by running the ball?

I find too many runs end up as losses in the backfield due to defensive players tossing aside blockers and planting you in the backfield. And yes, I've tried turning off auto sprint; it doesn't make much of a difference.

I break some here and there but Madden 12 is a passer's game, making dedicated running teams like Minnesota and Tennesse difficult to use compared to the Packers, Eagles, Chargers, etc.

If my opponent is useless, my yards per carry is occassionaly above 4.5 but more often is below 4. I beleive there is hope as I found a guy in the Top 20 who is averaging 175 yards per game with Oakland. I'd like to know what types of formations he's using.

As it stands, running the ball seems too predictated on the hope that your oline holds its blocks, which rarely happens. Feels cheap.|||I play as Oakland and running with McFadden right now is my best choice, works really well.gaining about 6.7 yards a carry, but passing is horrible|||Traded Benson for Daniel Thomas and upped his speed to about 87. I've been getting about 120 yards a game with him and have been very successful opening up the short passing game for Andy Dalton with the Bengals. I play on All-Pro with default sliders and 30 speed threshold

If you're talking about online, haven't played a game online yet.|||I've had no problems running with Steven Jackson.|||I use the Raiders and get about 150 yards per game on All madden.Maybe you arent checking your line for the best path,or maybe you aren't using all types of run plays. Mix it up switch your lineman around, you also may not be the running type|||Running seems to be totally team and RB dependant.

I just played a game online with the Texans and ran for 158 yards averaging 6.8 per carry with Arian Foster.

I can't duplicate the with just any team, but with the right back and oline, you can be a run first team.|||but i do get what ya mean with the shedding eaither he gets pancaked or he just blows by with the slap and gets by.wish they could show the real battles in the trenches. seems like they want to get rid of that and only want uick moves|||I can't seem to stop the run to save my life this year. Even when I get guys like Ray or Suggs or Ngata in the backfield, doesn't matter if it's LeSean McCoy or Reshard Mendenhall, they just shrug my guys off and scamper for 4-5 yards every time.|||I find I have better results with a 4-3 D than a 3-4 at stopping the run.

My opponent has yet to run for 100, so I am not seeing the problem, but I've yet to play and elite RB with a guy who uses him all the time.
