Superstar mode. Is it.... TOO easy this year?

Anyone else think this? The last couple years I would create a player and would go from a 70 overall to an 85 over the course of 4 or 5 years. I created an MLB and he started out at a 67 and after 10 games is at a 94. I like the point system but it just doesn't seem as rewarding when u can boost his overall so quickly. Does anyone know if the points system goes away after a year or u start getting less points?|||Easy solution. Quit boosting your players overall and try earning the increase in the off-season.

Same problem with NCAA 12. You can purchase career boosts and be in the 90's after your freshman year. Or you can choose NOT to purchase the career boosts and earn that 90+ overall by your senior year.

Career boosts are there for the people who stink at playing the game.|||Seems like doing that completely takes away from the new features. But u do still get an increase at the end of the hear huh? I'm tryin to figure out the most legit way to make my QB without boosting him like in 11.|||I haven't played Superstar mode yet. Do they have one game boosts as well as career boosts?

You'll still progress in the off-season if you don't purchase any boosts as long as you perform well.|||Yea depending on your position u get points after each practice and game in regards to different plays made. Then those points can be put towards the overall. I guess when I make my QB I'll just progress things that didn't progress much in 11 (play action, throw on the run)|||Still unclear on something. With those points...do you just add them to categories like break tackle and juke move or do you have options that increase multiple categories for a single game or for your career?|||Well it depends on how important different categories are to that position. For example I make a WR. after a game and practice I have 530 points to use. To increase speed from 70-71 requires 80 points. To increase catching is 60 I think. But for things that arent as vital to the position like kick return it only takes 20 points (maybe even less I've only made one WR in 12 so far)|||Sounds weak sauce to me. I'll have to check it out sometime though. Sorry I couldn't have been more help. Figured they'd be smart enough to use something similar to the NCAA Road to Glory progression system.|||I don't know what's wrong with the mode.

Played as a RB earlier and got drafted in the 7th round by the Steelers.

- I'm the starter over Mendenhall so that hasn't changed from past games.
- I have a 92 overall Kick Return skill but I haven't returned a single kick yet.
- The OLine don't hold their blocks meaning I get tackled for a 2 yard loss before I've even started
- Coach constantly calls passing plays leaving me on the lurch.
- Most annoyong of all the game is unrealistic. When you're not on the field the teams just cancel each other out. Lost to Baltimore 13-0, Seattle 16-3 and all the points were scored in the last qtr-and-a-half.
|||Yea it is kinda weak. I like the idea but it feels like too many points are given. I'm getting 600 points per game and another 60-150 per practice. At this rate he'll be a 99 by the end of the year. My superstar I made in 11 didn't get to 90 until year 4 which seems a lot more realistic to me. No worries though I was just wondering if anyone else found it too easy lol|||

I get a lot less than that per game but that could be because I actually suck at being a RB.

If I was playing on Rookie I'd probably get 250 yards a game lol.|||

Lol well I'm playing as an MLB so I just rush the line at the right time and add up sacks and tackles for a loss. When I tried WR I was only getting about 300 a game because of the running plays the coach would call. But I am playing on all madden.|||I would say yes. I imported my RTG player who was a 99 overall in NCAA and I was a 95 overall. May just create my guy and take him into superstar and start out as a 60 overall. I'm easily the most dominant player on our defense and I'm a 99 overall with one game left in my rookie season. The only thing that is keeping my team from being undefeated is the Cincinnati offense is very young and thus, not good in simulation. We are 10-5 at this point though and my guy is consistently leading the team in tackles and interceptions as a rookie.|||

My MLB is the same way (not with picks though) but he leads the league in sacks and TFL. the one thing I do like is the realism. In 11 if we were winning and our offense had the ball with 2 minutes left they would waste 40 seconds and punt it. Now if that's the case they run the clock out much more effectively.|||Just notices there's a button to retire in SS this year. I wonder if it's a fail like years before.
