Madden 12 = I suck now ??

OK ... I turned 31 this year and have been playing Madden since SNES days. I suck so bad at this game this year ... HELP

In the last couple of years I have studied up on how to stop cheez plays and how to compete online while playing clean football. I won about half of the games I played the last couple of years online. I did really good in MUT last year and probably won 75% of my games ... Then Madden 12 came out

0-9 currently ... averaging 5 pts a game and allowing 28 ... I have been conceding games to stop the bleeding. I play with the Chiefs and can't seem to run the ball at all (which I was able to do last year). Passing drives me nuts!!!! Did players grow 4 ft in the last 12 months? I like to sit in the pocket and pass ... I am thinking you almost always have to leave it unless it is a quick pass and they are not doing bump n run. Throwing over the middle is 50% chance of INT and the All Madden leaping defenders this year make a lot of other routes hard to complete as well.

Please help with with ideas ... I hate to make this a offline franchise only game for me. What am I doing wrong this year to where my old man game is no longer functional. Thanks!!! |||I suck on D so I try to control the ball as much as possible.

Run the ball as much as you can. Get into 2nd and short, 3rd and short situations so that the whole playbook is open to you.

Also, make sure to take some shots deep to loosen the coverage.

That's all I got..|||Dont feel bad im in kind of a slump in my offline franchise. Im only giving up like 17 points per game but on offense im still trying to adjust to some zone defense that actually works for once. Ive forced some boneheaded passes that get picked off. Just need to get protection and make better reads.|||One thing I like is that if you play real football the D can be tuff, especially if your not playing with the super teams where everything is pretty easy. I play with the Skins and you have to adjust your play calling and game plan to basic fundamentals of football, control the clock and stay in short distance situations so you can move the offense down the field.

Every team can't throw deep all the time, with the Skins for example I may take 2 or 3 shots down field a game, more if the safeties are up at the line or its a lot of one on one. I roll through about 25 different plays a game. On D I run multiple coverage's, I usually run a base coverage for the first series just to get an idea of what the other person is going to try to do then make adjustments. Most people have a few money plays that they like to force, I give it to them, then take it away when they really need it which 9 times out of 10 ends up in a TO.

One thing you can count on especially with online play is the little kid that has no real world football IQ, I played some kid he had the eagles (of course) he got up due to a couple of big plays from fumbles and a pick 6, on O however this kid had 3 options run with vick, throw to the seam or streaks with D jack. The dummy refused to punt, which gave me great field position every time, he also refused to kick FG's which took easy points off the board. He did this, among other things anyone with football smarts would not do, needless to say he took a L, where he should have dominated a far weaker team.|||

Nice good on ya man. I suck against human players, cause I seem to forget what play the just got done running, so I see a 5 wr set and I think Hey this is a new play. I have to start doing what a buddy of mine does, and just writes down all the plays a person uses, and by the 2nd half you can't move the ball at all on him.
