Replace Franchise mode with Head Coach add-on (DLC)

So, this is an idea I've been pushing for a while now, and after playing Madden 12 I think it really is the best way to go.

Madden 12's franchise mode is a big upgrade from 11... but it's still not touching HC09 AT ALL! I'm convinced, that with all the back code, it's just not possible. So, instead of complaining about it, this is how it can be fixed.

Replace Franchise mode with Head Coach. Make it downloadable content, so it basically would work as an extension of the disk. Charge $20 for a package of both off and online franchise.

HC09 failed because it was lacking in gameplay and presentation. This would solve that, as you'd be using Madden's G&P. The games really not that big of a download once you strip away the G&P so the size isn't an issue. EA is a business first, and I think that this idea would profit tremendously. Save a ton of money producing and delivering the game.

I could list literally 100 ways that this idea would benefit the gamer, but I wont. Instead, I'll list a few ways that it benefits EA.

Pros:

*More profitable than giving the content away with the game, with none of the added cost of production, shipping, or separate marketing that came with HC09.
*The game could be sold and downloaded on EA's website. Making the price for add-space go through the roof on release day.
*Easier to change/patch, since you're not completely dealing with codes already on a disc.
*You could do it the first year in ADDITION to franchise mode on the game to test run it.
*More space on the disc. (most likely would be dedicated to presentation)

Hopefully everybody get's behind this idea so much that it comes to fruition. I know a lot of you people are cheap and hear extra money and don't want to pay. But seriously... my idea is a steal for BOTH sides.

P.s. if you like the idea, DO NOT just vote. Make sure you leave a comment so we can keep this thread at the top for as long as possible! That's the ONLY way the devs will see it.|||I say don't get rid of it, but add the head coach anyways.|||

I say don't get rid of it, but add the head coach anyways.

I think that'd be the right way to do it for the first year to make the transition easier. But from a business standpoint, you'd lose sales (competing with yourself is never healthy). So, it'd have to be phased out eventually.|||But won't people complain about having to buy the HC add on?|||am a long time suffering offline franchise player I would give my left nut for a better madden franchise mode josh looman is nothing more than a used car salesman he sold us on this trash of a franchise mode we need to vote to fire looman|||

But won't people complain about having to buy the HC add on?

welll only the die hard offline players would really line up for this count me as one ive been waiting years for improved offline franchise and am still waiting that tool looman wrecked this game|||

But won't people complain about having to buy the HC add on?

I honestly don't think those people matter as much as they'd like to think they do. It's one thing to not buy a VERY flawed HC09... but if a person is complaining about an extra $20 for franchise mode, then they just aren't really into franchise mode. Online franchise cost $10 as it is.

To basically have a whole video game, that costed around $50 when it was new... for only an additional $10 is a complete steal. It'd help sell Season Ticket too, if it gave you a discount on this.|||

you dont want it dont pay for it some of us are at the end, we hate franchise mode with a passion and want it better and are willing to shell out some MS points for a REAL franchise mode 1st step like a poster above said FIRE LOOMAN|||I don't think this would happen as a DLC.

If anything, I could see Head Coach '13 or '14.I would be cool with that.

I like this franchise mode the way it is, provided that they continue to improve on the franchise part next year.|||this game has no franchise mode so how can anyone like it the way it is|||
