Xbox 360: Needs Gold Account to get the Roster Update?

WHAT? Come on. Look, I don't like to complain about Madden because generally I enjoy the game, and if you make a few concession its a quality investment every year. But now I learn that the roster update needs an Xbox Gold Account? So it's either shell out more money or I get basically 2010 rosters + rookies? Really?

I understand Xbox Gold accounts getting the demo earlier, getting online play even. But a roster update is a BASIC FEATURE. ITS MANDATORY. It isn't extra, or a side demo. ITS PART OF THE FREAKING GAME. And now I, an unemployed college graduate with 90,000 in loans have to start shelling out extra money?

Come on EA/Xbox. Get your stuff together.|||1. All the trades and Fa happened after the game was finished because of the lockout it's not like it was finished 2 days ago and then shipped out.
2. You should of done research and found out the roster update was only on xbox live which is common sense.|||I understand WHY there is a roster update. That makes perfect sense. But why make it only available to Xbox Gold subscribers? Not everyone has an extra 100 dollars to shell out for Gold account.|||and I use research very loosely all you had to do was come on here and see that or ask someone at your local game store or ea sports. **** you could of prob just asked a friend!!|||I got xbox live for 12 month and it costed me $60 bucks thats the cost of madden. Xbox live even though you have to pay for it makes games so much better.|||Don't think you need Gold. Ussualy if your connected to internet it does an update as u stick in the disc for any game.|||I just posted the same question myself...I didn't see this thread. Damn...|||You Dont need Gold for Rosters

You need Xbox Silver and the EA Online Code on the back of your manual or inserted w/ the game.
Rosters always been available for Silver Users just you cant play online without gold
go to Depth Chart on Online Mneu and it will auto update your rosters or go to menu download rosters <--
last year depth chart worked for free but download roster option on menu didnt so try depth chart first|||Hey then thats Xbox's fault. Xbox tries to take any money they can get. Get a PS3 to never experience the problem.|||please help me out|||

Terribly disappointed with this. I don't play many Xbox games anymore and I think this is the nail in the coffin for me.|||

That's the way It USED to be. I entered the online pass code and still no roster downloads, and it prompted me to sign up for the 12 months of that "Season pass" bullshyt.
If you downloaded the rosters with silver, please tell us how you did this.|||
