First impressions from a 64 year old madden player

[:1]Hello fellow Madden players. I have been playing the Madden franchise since the 90's and just wanted to list my impressions of 2012 so far, and maybe some of the things that bothered/annoyed me that I considered un necessary changes.

- First, I absolutely love the new tackle animations. I think they improved 100% over last year. Too many times in previous years a player would unrealistically gain extra yardage just so an animation could complete even if there are 5 defenders whos feet he's falling at. Now it seems that in most cases someones direction or momentum can change in mid play during a hit. Great job.

-THANK YOU for improving on the circus QB screen and flat passes. I noticed that now a QB throwing across his body, spinning around on his back foot doesn’t come close to having the same accuracy as they had in the past. Great improvement.

- Cover 2 seems much improved from a realism standpoint. I have only played 3 games (none online yet) and so far like what I see.
-Player control seems to “Arcade-ish” at times. I haven’t decided if I like this is not. It kind of reminds me of NFL Gameday 2000, but I did love that game!
-LB's seem to have the best hands in the game, why is this?

-Was it really necessary to change preplay controls yet again? I use the Madden 10 option for preplay controls, and maybe It's just me, but even with the Madden 10 controls, it doesn't feel the same.

-Why did the kicking meter have to change AGAIN? This is, I think 4 years in a row now where kicking has been completely changed from the year prior. I really do not like it.
-Kick coverage seems much improved, however I completely hate the camera view on returns, and maybe I’m just senile or something, but again, I see no reason why it had to be changed.
-Camera view over all is very tough for me when running up the sidelines. Again, I just do not understand why it had to be made more difficult.

Now I know someone my age makes up about 1% of the Madden gamer base, but I just wanted to list things that I am having trouble with. I realize that many of you young guys may not have trouble with some of the things I mentioned (camera view, kicking), or even realized it at all, but trust me, when you get to be my age your hands don’t react to your brain as fast as they used to LOL. Which normally isn’t a problem, but when the entire feel of something changes, it kind of sucks.

Anyway thanks for listening to a crazy old man rant. I got up to Level 10 online last year, and hope I can do the same this year.
|||LOL -- No they don't tremble. The things I'm having the most trouble with are basically things that just feel completely different and didn't need to be changed, such as running up the sidelines and the kick meter.
|||Keep in mind your probably replying to 16 year old's on these messageboards.
Thats what I do, and I treat them as such.|||yeah there are some changes but its nice to see you sticking to it.

Its all good OP we will be gamers till we die.|||I guess to sum up what I was saying:
It seems like they made certain changes just for the sake of making changes, when their was nothing wrong with what they changed originally. And in the process they made some things more difficult for certain people that have absolutely nothing to do with knowledge of the game, clock management, or overall skill but catered to the Call of Duty crowd.|||

HA HA, You old

Nice observation, you will get there some day.
Chances are I was taking snaps while your father was still swimming around in his fathers sack.

I see what your saying, but in other regards, COD like players are the ones that used to run around for an hour with Vick, or launch 80 yard passes to Moss all game long. It seems those days are long gone. Hate to say it, but I would give up a simplier interface for a better experience. Ya we shouldn't have to compromise, but in EA's world when they fix something they must mess something else up.|||

Very true and I agree whole heartedly on defense. Hopefully LB's are toned down a bit though, seems a touch unrealistic.|||*Tiburon Studio's*

Developer: Hey check this out.

Project Director: What?

Developer: This year im improving online teamplay with tons of new options and 4 players!

Project Director: Wow... thats good.. like really good... infact its too good..

Project Director: Rip some features out of Franchise and take out gang tackling to compromise.

Developer: Why?

Project Director: So we can put them back in next year.
We need to find ways to make the same game look different every year or noone would buy it you fool!

Project Director: Im going back to my office to swim in my money pit.

*End*|||

That should be an easy fix with a tuner update. In the meantime, I would suggest toning down the INT. slider for CPU on defense, and possibly the reaction time. Might help a little.
