My take on Super Star mode

[:1]I am just shocked at how completely thrashed this portion of madden is. There is almost no point to even have it in the game.

There is no reason to play NCAA to import your player, my MLB came in as a 98 - so I don't need to do anything to earn xp points. Even if I make a crappy player he is still a starter and I can rack up enough XP points to get to 99 in no time.

The xp point system is messed up, I was assuming it was like NCAA, based of your player only -- but I get points for what my offense does and what my other defensive teammates do.

The views are horrible, why can't the POV be the camera for the PAT or extra points when on defense, you know on the field POV.

What about adding elements back in that have been taken out - the draft, mini camps before the draft, interviews etc.

Why not have your guy start on the practice squad, and depending on your position - you could play special teams until you are a starter.

I could keep on ranting, but I know it won't change anything.

as a strong safety i found myself getting 130+ points each game for "superstar tackle" whatever that is (i only made 1-2 tackles) and 40 points for an interception. in one game, i had a pick, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery and i earned just 10 more points than i did the previous game in which i just had 3 tackles.|||

I play as a linebacker, but get around 340 per game -- couple of them have been broke tackle for a big gain, ran for 100 + yards, threw for 3 touchdowns etc. seems like I'm getting points for everyone.|||Basically they need to take Road To Glory this year, replace the high school season with a bunch of different workouts with different teams (do skills tests like you could on the old Madden games) and then I really liked the "coach trust" system that RTG implemented. Start out (unless drafted by a team that really needs a player of your position immediately) on the practice squad and work your way up to the starter. If you're drafted by the Patriots and you're a QB, play the backup role, show what you can do in the few games you may get in, and see if another team will show interest in you as a starter i.e. Matt Cassell or Kevin Kolb.

I started out as a 95 strong safety and I won the Super Bowl, Super Bowl MVP, Rookie of the year, Defensive Player of the Year, and was voted to the Pro Bowl. I got done and turned to my wife and said..."That was fun, but not really any reason to continue my guys' career now. I did everything I could possibly do in my first year."|||I'm also really disappointed with Superstar mode. When your contract is up, you can't even decide where you want to sign. They just re-sign you to your original team. So dumb, you have no control over your player except which way you run. (If you're a RB)|||

I think you can ask for a trade and decide which team you want to go to no questions asked if I'm not mistaken.|||I brought my RTG player in as well. QB from Michigan. Came in as an 89 overall and after pre-season I am a 96 already. I think they should cut off imported RTG players ratings coming in at no higher than like 82 and also make getting training points more of a challenge. Like you guys said, not getting points for things your teammates do. They should also do what the golf game does and as you increase in categories each point costs more in training points to get. This way it can take you at least a couple years to build up to a 99. And please, please, please, the option to turn off coordinator audio. It's horrible. They repeat the same stuff over and over and over.

One other minor thing. I don't like that they are trying to assign real player photos to imported RTG players. I think it looks stupid. Either design a good faca building engine like MLB The Show or use the photo gameface feature from golf and Fifa. They should put that in NCAA. I think they need more variance on faces in NCAA personally but that's for another message board.|||

Agreed. For my 210 lb strong safety they have a picture of a guy who looks like he is about 280-300 lbs. My wife looked at my picture after I made a tackle and goes "When did you become obese???" lol|||

I think they should have just kept it to where it brought in the NCAA rendered faces. Another thing I would love to see in superstar mode ties in with what you guys said earlier about the ability to do workouts leading up to the draft. I would love to see your player get to walk on the draft stage if you are a first round pick or maybe top 10 or something.
