Here is my two cents. I have owed every madden ever made - yes, way back with sega even. I dont play any other video games and I wait all year for the new game for the new rosters. I only bought an xbox to play madden.
I know there was an NFL lockout - that is not EA's fault; however, they could have made even the first roster update free so I am not playing with outdated rosters.
I know its only 60 bucks for a year for gold, thats not the point, you cannot sell a game that is outdated before you bought it. I had no idea they now require a gold account to update rosters. I dont play online, I dont use those features.
I know I am a new poster - I dont complain often, I have never even sent food back in my life. However, this is simply ridiculous. I am not paying $60.00 to update my roster and I am not using operation sports posts to change my roster probably because I am not smart enough to follow the instructions.
If anyone knows how I can update my roster simply, I would love to hear even if by pm. I am in the sales business and I would never sell a client a product that was already updated.
Just one small buyers opinion, but I can tell you, this is my last version unless this is fixed.

True, everyone should get atleast the first roster after the final cuts. Lock out shouldn't matter because only 1 preseason game was missed so there isn't no excuse for everyone not getting the final roster going into the 1st regular season game.
I have gold so it's not a problem, but in shouldn't be a problem for anyone with an online connection. I mean if they aren't going to give you atleast the 1st roster they don't need to be releasing the game this early.
PS. If anyone has both a PS3 and 360, get the PS3 version if you don't have gold for 360.

|||It actually has an option for download roster and then another option for depth chart so you can save your subs without pausing the game at the beginning of every online game.|||I think it's a pretty simple solution. They shoould just give out a 48-hour trial on Xbox Live Gold with every copy. Download the newest roster update for the start of the season and make a lot of people happy. I have gold so it doesn't affect me but I would be mad if I were in your situation|||

|||you can get a 2 day trial or a month card for much less that would give you a gold acct for a couple of days and you can download your roster then. Still not sure if you NEED a gold acct.|||Thanks for the tip but do you know where I can buy a 48 hour pass?|||
